Tsavo East National Park
Tsavo East National Park is Kenya’s oldest and largest national park, spanning an expansive 13,747 square kilometers of untamed semi-arid plains. Renowned for its iconic ‘Red Elephants’ that dust-bathe in the distinctive terracotta volcanic soil, Tsavo East is home to the world’s longest lava flow—the 300-kilometer Yatta Plateau. Other unforgettable landmarks include the Mudanda Rock, an enormous 1.5 km geological outcrop functioning as a natural dam where hundreds of animals gather to drink, and Lugard Falls on the Galana River where rushing rapids carve multi-colored rock gorges.
